    Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988) is a Japanese American sculptor, a universal talent who has experienced life and work in the United States, Europe and Asia. Isamu Noguchi is famous for his sculptures and also for the playgrounds, plazas and gardens that he designed. He also created stage sets (Martha Graham), lighting (Araki paper lights) and furniture pieces. Among his furniture work was his collaboration with the Herman Miller company in 1948 when Isamu Noguchi joined with George Nelson, Paul László and Charles Eames to produce a catalog containing what is often considered to be the most influential body of modern furniture.
    Other notable commissions include the gardens for the UNESCO Building in Paris, several fountains for the Supreme Court Building in Tokyo and a high-relief for the Abelardo Rodriguez Market in Mexico City.
    Isamu Noguchi's creations all display the biomorphic imagery of his contemporary sculpture.
    Signs of an international recognition, Isamu Noguchi has a museum in New York City dedicated to his works and he received several awards and prizes such as the followings ones :

    New York Architectural League Gold Medal, 1965
