"Qui es-tu Peter" at Espace culturel Louis Vuitton, Paris until Jan. 9, 2011.

"Who are you, Peter ?&rdquo: the question that opens the 13th exhibition at the Espace culturel Louis Vuitton invites the visitor to explore a fantastical land in which childhood and creation converse with, inspire and galvanise each other. From the pen of the Scotsman James Matthew Barrie in 1904, Peter Pan has become a contemporary myth, a symbol of the eternal child. His genius has recently been reduced to a syndrome: Peter Pan syndrome is said to describe people running away from their adult responsibilities. But is Peter Pan characterised by the creation of unprecedented worlds?
Thirteen contemporary artists are taking over the Espace culturel Louis Vuitton, each choosing to explore one aspect of the myth, together sketching a portrait of the troublemaker.
Artists: Grégoire Bourdeil, Marina de Caro, Michel François, Lothar Hempel, Melonie Foster Hennessy, Ji Ji,Jean-Philippe Illanes, Nicolas Julliard, Arnaud Kalos, Laurent Pernot, Janaina Tschäpe, Virginie Yassef, Jérôme Zonder.

The New York based designer Sandy Chilewich is founder and creative director of Chilewich. She started with an interesting experience at HUE the hosiery company she cofounded in 1978. In 1997, Sandy Chilewich launched her namesake design studio and introduced the highly successful RayBowl&trade. The design, which features a metal frame covered with stretch netting typically used in lingerie. In a quest for other suitable fabrics to incorporate into the RayBowl, she discovered a completely underutilized textile, woven vinyl. Even if it didn&rsquot work for the bowls, Chilewich saw an opportunity for a new business because of its durability, its intrinsic sheen, its design versatility, and the fact that it is washable. Her innovative use of yarn fuses style and sophistication to create placemats, flooring, and bags. Sandy Chilewich&rsquos interest in colour and experimentation with fibres leads herto create over 70 weaves and colours. In 2001, Sandy Chilewich, together with her architect husband, Joe Sultan, launched their first product for Contract. The contract division includes woven vinyl fabrics for use on walls, panels, and upholstery. Made entirely in the USA, Chilewich award winning products are sold around the world.
