Lire la suite For the second consecutive year, the Grand Marché d'Art Contemporain will be held in the Freyssinet Hall, an architectural masterpiece of the 20th century, in the 13th 'arrondissement' of Paris. Following the success of the 2010 edition, some 150 artists from France and abroad will be exhibiting their latest works and sell them at studio prices. Visitors will be able to make new discoveries and discuss these directly with their creators. The theme this year is portraiture and self-portraits. Piero Lissoni

The Italian architect and designer Piero Lissoni (b. 1956) studied Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano and started to work as designer and Art Director with furniture manufacturers Boffi, Living Divani and Porro. In 1986, Piero Lissoni founded his Studio, and in 1996 he created Graph.x to develop graphics projects. The work of the studio includes architecture, graphic and industrial design projects, ranging from furniture, accessories, kitchens, bathroom and lighting fixtures to corporate identity, with advertising, catalogues and packaging. Interior design projects include hotels, showrooms, trade stands, private houses, shops and yachts all around the world. All the creations of Piero Lissoni and its studio have in common to be timeless and sophisticated with one goal: simplicity. Piero Lissoni&rsquos aim is to make different styles work together.
70 people, architects, designers and graphic designers, create solutions for clients such as Alessi, Artelano, Boffi, Cappellini, Cassina, Con&Con, Flos/Antares, Fritz Hansen, Glas Italia, Kartell, Knoll International, Lema, Living Divani, Matteograssi, Poltrona Frau, Porro, Tecno, Thonet and Wella.
Piero Lissoni has received numerous awards throughout his career such as the Elle Decoration International Design Award (2006 and 2009) the Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum (2007), the New Designer of the Year Award at the World Superyacht Awards (2006), the Green Yachting certification (2007) and the Monte-Carlo Showboat International Award (2008).
