    Charlotte mould - Moulds

A charlotte mold is a kitchen utensil designed to prepare a dessert called charlotte. A charlotte is a cold cake or dessert consisting of layers of biscuits (usually spoonfuls or boudoirs) or slices of bread crumbs soaked in liquid (such as syrup or fruit juice), and fillings such as fruit, whipped cream or bavarian cream. Some characteristics of a typical charlotte mould include:

Cylindrical shape with removable bottom: The charlotte mold usually has a cylindrical shape, with straight walls and a removable bottom. This makes it easy to unmold the cap once it is ready.

    Smooth or fluted walls: Some

... charlotte molds have smooth outer walls, while others have fluted walls, which gives the charlotte a decorative texture on the outside.

When preparing a charlotte, cookies or bread crumbs are laid out on the inner walls of the charlotte mold, and then the filling is poured into the center. Once the charlotte has rested in the refrigerator for a while (to allow the flavors to mix and the cookies to soak), it can be unmoulded by simply removing the removable bottom of the mold, thus revealing its cylindrical shape and delicious filling.

Charlottes are often embellished with fruit, chocolate, nuts or other ingredients to add flavor and texture. They are appreciated for their freshness and simplicity, and there are many variations of this classic dessert.

European manufacturers: Mauviel, De Buyer, Demarle, Silikomart...
