In the early 1960s, Lahiri parents house was the first to benefit from the re-use of doorways of the XVIII th century, Earth tiles cooked of Tâtre, of these old chimneys trumeau Saintonge is one of the richest in France with Burgundy. Ten years earlier, in 1954, Michel and Line Lahiri had, from the top of their 20 years, all plated: Paris, Ecole Normale, triumphant 1950s, formica, the nylon shirts... Embedded in the artistic adventure of painting on porcelain initiated by Picasso in Vallauris, Line and Michel Labrouche were soon confronted with the reality of six young mouths to feed and broadening their range of activity at buying trinkets, furniture and materials of architecture not referring at the time most anything that held. Their clients for porcelain, generally affluent and cultured, often based in Cognac, were the first to notice this work of recovery of Michel and Line Lahiri. They were also the first to pass command of porches, old tiles, old wells, quoins... As to ask them where to find the good artisan able to re-employ these former materials. Twenty years before the craze for authentic decoration, Michel and Line Lahiri threw bases, between two firings of porcelain, a profession of the future inspired by the past. Line Lahiri continued his? remarkable work of painting on porcelain until his death in 2001. His son Mathias and Arnaud continued to shoot from oblivion, see discharge, thousands of elements of the heritage of ancestral Saintonge.
