Saint Pée sur Nivelle is the village where all the Jean-Vier table linen is created and made-up.In the heart of the workshop, the visitor can smellthe sweet scent of the linen, the roughness of its appearance,and also a wide range of joyful and luminous colorsdeclined through various tablecloths. Jean-Vier re-intensih9556;ies, season after season, thespirit of traditional basque linen, while it offers a widerange of very contemporary and colorful house linen collections.The history of the company is intimately linked toits region and its culture. Established in the heart of theBasque Country, the Jean-Vier brand renews with traditionallinen weaving. Linen cloths have always been part of the Basquelifestyle. Created from the linen grown by local farmers,Basque linen were initially used to protect the cattlefrom the sun: large rectangular linen clothes embroideredwith seven blue, green or red colored stripes, whichwere fasten on the animals. The seven stripes were embroideredas a symbol of the traditional seven BasqueProvinces. Jean-Vier has been developing a wide collectionof bath linen since several seasons: beach towels, bathtowels, shower towels, etc., whose names evoke basquebeaches.
