WASARA is elegant yet sustainable, single use paper tableware. Featuring the aesthetic and sensitive design that invokes the feel of Japanese ceramics, WASARA fits comfortably in the hand, with an elegant form and sturdy support. Those details are backed by Japanese craftsmanship, excellent techniques of metallic molds, and the skills of trimming, which had never been used before in the paper tableware industry. Japan has one of the most refined food cultures in the world and it is common practice to select tableware that best suits each ingredient or cuisine. We design WASARA exactly to accentuate the delicacy of cuisine and create a rich and warm atmosphere. WASARA is also an earth-conscious product. As disposable tableware, a piece of WASARA can serve its purpose only once. Yet, it is made from non-wood renewable material; a mix pulp of reed, bamboo and bagasse (sugarcane waste), and it is fully biodegradable and compostable. While WASARA is by design ephemeral, it represents the essence of Japanese tradition and spirit.
