Poterie Terre Figuiere

Today, Terre Figuière is part of the prestigious setting of the "Artisans Potiers" of the Anduze region and perpetuates the tradition of this production so dear to the elders. The creation is handmade, the earth is crushed, wet, chamotte, passed to the plodder then the crafts man intervenes to roughen the shape to the machine in a plaster mold called caliber. A dozen hours later, the bells are unmoulded, the turner intervenes, puts up the foot which was previously shaped by hand.

The decoration is made by a professional and skillful gesture, the famous garlands are placed as well as the three escutcheons. Then the primer is applied to neutralize the colour. Then comes the projection of manganese and copper oxides to obtain green, brown, ochre and yellow shades with multiple nuances.
